So years ago I read an interview with one of my favorite Singer/Songwriter, Musician, Guitarplayer, Activist and Producer Steve Earle, talking about many things among which was the virtues of Telefunken V72 Mic Pre's and acoustic guitar recording. He basically said they are the best for it. I have a problem with the idea of anything being the best always. There is no perfect for all purposes anything! With that endorsement from someone that I respect at that level it did make me want to hear one and that led to me wanting to own one (two). I will say now that I own one they are damn good sounding, with the right mic, for acoustic steel string and nylon string guitar. They also do a great job with the right transformer added as a bass DI!
